Education

As a trained paralegal, I am a passionate researcher who takes zealous advocacy to the next level. Going above and beyond for my clients is my normal work ethic.

Born and raised in New England, I spent the bulk of my early years in Westborough, MA and graduated from Westborough High School.

I went to university in North Carolina where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, or UNCC as the locals call it. I majored in Criminal Justice and minored in French and proudly graduated Cum Laude. I took the opportunity to study abroad in England for my Junior year and attended Kingston University – London. I was able to travel on holidays and weekends, visiting Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Austria, Ireland, Spain, and the Netherlands. I was required to take a British Life & Culture class that involved field trips to different landmarks around England. On the day we visited Brighton, we witnessed massive lines outside UK bank Northern Rock, as customers queued up to withdraw their money. This was the start of the Great Recession.

As I entered my senior year of college, all hope of finding meaningful employment post-graduation seemed bleak. I completed an internship at the Mecklenburg County Work Release & Restitution Center where I worked with female inmates housed in a dormitory style environment who were convicted of crimes ranging from prostitution to driving under the influence. The supervisors in this correctional facility told me I was “too nice” to work in corrections, so I decided pursue a career as a paralegal. As is my typical workflow, I researched how one becomes a paralegal, prior to applying to the ABA (American Bar Association) approved certificate program at Northern Essex Community College. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and added “Paralegal Certificate” to my resume.

During my time at Amica Insurance, I took several insurance courses earning the professional designation of Associate in Claims (AIC). I am currently 3 classes away from an Associates degree in Healthcare and am self-taught in my quest of learning anything and everything about nutrition.

I chose Freedom Trail Realty School to complete my education requirements prior to taking the Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson exam. I passed the exam on the first try, so if you are considering a career in real estate and live in Massachusetts, definitely check them out.

Call me “Constable”.

I am currently serving as the Constable of Uxbridge. This appointment speaks to my academic achievements and ethical character.

I started playing ice hockey when I was sixteen and continued my first two years of college and continue to play in local leagues and tournaments.

My menagerie consists of Roxy the Maine Coon, Alice the American Bobtail, Koko the Minatare Pinscher, and Goat the Alaskan Husky. Goat is a retired sled dog who spent the majority of his life as a working dog but has really come into his own while maintaining his devious character in retirement. One of the joys that comes with home ownership is the ability to adopt a dog which I have taken full advantage of.

Work History

My favorite part of Real Estate is that I never feel like I am actually working. My satisfaction is derived from helping others in their journey to find a new home or sell their existing home.

I spent seven and a half years working for an insurance company in both the claims department and the legal department. For many years, I thought this would be my career and was working towards a management position with the company. When the pandemic hit in 2020 and the volume of claims dropped, I found myself re-evaluating my future. After careful consideration, I decided to move into the real estate field and have not looked back.

I started my career working as a paralegal for a sole practitioner who primarily handled criminal defense cases. I routinely created new content for the website, maintained client relations, drafted pleadings and legal correspondence, performed legal research, handled all financial aspects of the office, and kept everything organized and in check, including the attorney I worked for. After three years of criminal defense with the occasional civil litigation and estate work, I moved on to work for an in-house insurance defense firm where I supported three attorneys. In my position of Legal Secretary, I assisted with civil lawsuits filed against insureds, primarily bodily injury claims. I drafted motions and set diaries for discovery deadlines, assisted the managing attorney in creating PowerPoint presentations to present in training other managers with the company, subpoenaed medical records which always required considerable follow-up, summarized medical records and social media records, and transcribed dictation.

After spending four years in the legal department, I moved into the claims department where I handled personal auto insurance claims (well over 700 annually). I handled both first and third party claims, responded to arbitrations, assisted in coverage investigations by taking recorded statements to help determine if coverage would apply to the loss, investigated and determined liability, negotiated and settled claims, mentored new claims representatives, and created and presented training for other claims representatives for using the RMV and for taking recorded statements.

I consider myself fortunate to have secured a position under Settlers Realty Group, LLC upon obtaining my Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson license and especially lucky that Joe Marinucci has agreed to take me under his wing. I could not ask for a better mentor.
